Watch-outs

  • Pellet feed can hang up when the hopper runs low
  • Upper cabinet temperature isn't well matched to the lower grill's set point
  • Early production units had more reported defects than later ones
  • Few obvious weak spots for the money

Known niggles

  • Pellets can bridge near empty and fail to feed smoothly into the auger
  • Early '1st generation' 2020 units had more reported controller, sensor, and igniter problems, generally resolved under warranty
  • Upper smoking cabinet can run far hotter than the lower grill chamber (one report: lower set to 350°F while upper reached over 600°F)
