Spirit E-435

The Spirit E-435 is a 4-burner Weber gas grill with a side burner and 428 sq in primary cooking area, sold in liquid propane or natural gas.

$829Approx. MSRP

A good choice for a bigger household that regularly grills for 6+ people, but add an aftermarket propane gauge and don't count on the factory rotisserie fit.

Pros

  • Largest Spirit model with 4 burners, good for cooking for bigger groups
  • Sear zone and boost burners give strong high-heat performance
  • Side burner adds versatility for sauces or sides
  • Serious heat (47,000 BTU) — sears fast
  • Built to last (porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates; stainless steel burners and flavorizer bars; steel cookbox and lid)

Watch-outs

  • No built-in fuel gauge
  • Grease management isn't fully reliable
  • Rotisserie compatibility issues if you want that accessory
  • Few obvious weak spots for the money

Known niggles

  • Some owners received defective regulators on arrival, even after a replacement
  • No fuel/fill gauge on the propane tank connection, unlike older Spirit models
  • Grease can miss the drip pan and end up pooling in the storage area below the grill
  • Optional rotisserie accessory doesn't fit well — the motor shaft is reported too short
