Great foreasy to learn

A capable mid-size 3-burner gas grill for regular backyard cooking, but if you grill on an exposed, windy deck, budget time to troubleshoot ignition and flame stability.

Pros

  • Flavorizer bars and grease management do a good job preventing flare-ups
  • Boost burners give strong searing power
  • Large drip pan slides out for easy cleaning
  • Built to last (porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates; stainless steel burners and flavorizer bars)

Watch-outs

  • Ignition reliability isn't consistent across all units
  • Flame stability suffers in wind without a windscreen or sheltered spot
  • No back panel on some configurations, adding to wind sensitivity
  • No side burner for sauces/sides

Known niggles

  • Some units arrive with a burner that won't ignite reliably, occasionally needing several attempts to light the third burner
  • Grill is sensitive to wind — flames can blow out in breezy conditions
  • Grate gaps are wide enough that smaller food can slip through
