36" Griddle (4-Burner)

The flat-top that started the griddle craze — smash burgers to breakfast.

$347Approx. MSRP

Good for a family or group that wants a big backyard cooking station and doesn't mind seasoning/maintaining bare steel; skip it if you have limited patio space or want a low-maintenance grill.

Pros

  • Huge 36" cooking surface handles a crowd (up to ~28 burgers/pancakes)
  • Four independent burners give real zone control for cooking multiple foods at once
  • Large, active online community (recipes, mods, replacement parts) makes troubleshooting easy
  • Relatively affordable per square inch of cooking space
  • Loads of cooking room — 769 sq in feeds a crowd

Watch-outs

  • No hood on the base model, so the plate is exposed to weather unless you buy a separate cover
  • Takes real counter or patio space and two people to assemble comfortably
  • Steel top needs regular re-seasoning or it rusts
  • Uneven heat across the plate takes practice to manage

Known niggles

  • Cooktop and undercarriage rust if not oiled/seasoned after every use, especially in humid climates
  • Piezo igniters can arrive with wires jostled loose in shipping, requiring a lighter to start
  • Corners of the griddle run noticeably cooler than the center across the 4 burners
  • Cheap caster wheels and welds reported on some units out of the box
